Duo Exhibition with Pierre-Alain Münger

Lasting Moment brought together Simon Berger and Pierre-Alain Münger, two artists who have known each other for many years. Both work with force, applied with precision. Berger sets controlled impacts into glass, Münger deforms metal plates. In both practices, control and pressure have to stay in balance for the material to take shape.

The exhibition was held entirely in black and white and centred on light: Berger's fractured glass catches it, Münger's metal reflects it.

In some of his works, Berger used glass shards to evoke the moment after an accident such as a car crash, when ordinary life is suddenly interrupted. Together, the two bodies of work spoke of the impact of force and of how delicate life can be.
