At the Saatchi Gallery in London, Materiality brought together 21 contemporary artists whose work goes beyond paint on canvas. The exhibition, curated by BSMT, asked what happens when the physical substance of an artwork becomes as important as the image it carries: glass, metal, textiles, thread and paper, alongside found and industrial materials.

In many of the works, the making remains visible – cutting, stitching, burning, breaking, layering. In Simon Berger's glass, every fracture stays part of the finished image. He took part with two works.

It was Berger's second exhibition in London in 2026, after Fractured Presence, his first solo show in the city, at HOFA Gallery in March.
