[Solo Exhibition – bestätigen]

Shattered was the first presentation of Simon Berger's work in Asia, and it changed the way he thought about his portraits.

In Bangkok, he noticed that viewers read his faces according to their own state of mind. In a low mood, a portrait appears more melancholic; in a joyful one, the same face seems to carry a brighter expression. The portrait stays the same, and the viewer changes it.

That observation stayed with him. He began to think about how viewers could influence the works directly, a question he took further in later projects. Showing in a different cultural setting also gave him a deeper sense of how universal his portraits are.

Alongside works on the wall, the exhibition included sculptures such as Skyscrapers and Cubes.
